Are you on the fence about Far Cry 6? This weekend you can judge for yourself whether it’s worth your money.
We had fun with Far Cry 6 when we reviewed it, though we were less than impressed with the story which we remarked was “..absolutely all over the place.” Now, from later today until late Sunday you can dive into it for free on PC and console. Yes, that’s a long “weekend” but don’t count on your boss letting you take four days off.
The open-world FPS, which sees you “liberating” a country from Giancarlo Esposito’s tyrannical leader, will be free on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
It’s just free for that weekend, though you’ll be able to pick the main game and the season pass up at a reduced price. So you can get Far Cry 6 at up to 50% off. Hurrah! Except.. that’s not quite the bargain you might think.
Why not? Because, digitally, Far Cry 6 is listed as £59.99 or thereabouts. So, with 50% off, it should be £29.99-ish. But it has, for a while now, been £27.99 on Amazon UK and $22.99 on Amazon UK. Still, if you do want to take Far Cry 6 for a spin, there’s no time like the present.
