The release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is.. still a mystery, sorry.
However, if you’re champing at the bit to get your hands on this follow-up to the original 90s Konami Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games, this new video is still worth checking out.
It features an interview with the co-founder of Tribute Games, Francois Major, and the head of Dotemu, Cyrille Imbert, discussing how absolutely over the moon they are to be working on a TMNT title. Yes, you’d hardly expect a studio head to badmouth an ongoing project, but the pair grew up with Ninja Turtles and their enthusiasm comes through in the video.
The video also reveals how the two companies came to be working together; they both had more or less the same idea and, ultimately, decided to join forces. Dotemu, as Streets of Rage 4 drew to a close, started looking for another project and TMNT seemed like an obvious choice.
You can check out the video above. Perhaps the biggest difference between the original TMNT beat-em-up and Shredder’s Revenge is that the former was designed to guzzle as many coins as it reasonably could – we’re eager to see how Dotemu and Tribute Games have tackled difficulty. We’ll let you know when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge gets a release date but for now it’s just a waiting game.
