After landing on the Google Stadia, Get Packed: Couch Chaos is coming to the Nintendo Switch. But.. are we the baddies?
Originally just called Get Packed, Get Packed: Couch Chaos cast you and up to three other players as members of Last Ditch Removals, a woefully sub-par, fly-by-night removal company. Your task is to “help” the inhabitants of a whole town move, flinging furniture into lorries and generally doing the best worst job you can.
Yes, you can play solo, but developer Moonshine Studio emphasises that Get Packed: Couch Chaos is at is best when you’re sharing the shenanigans via local co-op. After all, things should go faster when there’s four players hurling sofas about, right? We’ve not had our hands on the Google Stadia version but we did speak to Moonshine about creating the Stadia game. You can read that interview here.
What does worry us a little, however, is that you’re basically the bad guys. The reason the town has to move is that they’re subject to a hostile eviction by a major corporation. Yes, we’ve played where we’ve shot innocent NPCs in the face but, illogical as it may seem, actually evicting people seems much, much more suspect. We’re hoping that, at some point, the evil megacorp gets what’s coming to them.
Get Packed: Couch Chaos will arrive on Nintendo Switch this April 28th, priced at $14.99 / €14.99 / £9.99 SRP.
