Hood: Outlaws & Legends’ Third Season, Ostara, Has Arrived and Introduces Cross-Platform Squads

Hood Outlaws & Legends 1

Multiplayer rob-em-up Hood: Outlaws & Legends’ third season has kicked off and you can now create your own cross-platform gang.

That’s not the only development Season 3 brings, but it’s the most significant. You can now arrange heists, grouping up beforehand, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Though it’s arrived with the launch of Season 3: Ostara, the cross-play update is free. The rest of the Season 3 content, however, is not. You need to have purchased the Season 3 battle pass or the Year 1 battle pass. Season 3 is the final chunk of Year 1 content (the game launched last May).

And if you’re wondering why Ostara sounds like Easter, it’s been suggested that, originally a celebration of the Spring Equinox, Ostara became Easter and that’s why we have bunnies delivering Easter Eggs. Whether that’s true is harder to determine – it’s an interesting idea (Christmas is definitely on top of a Pagan festival) – but yet to be absolutely proven.

The content that’s added, and available now, includes:

  • Over 100 new cosmetics.

That’s it and yes, we wasted a bullet point on that. There’s no new maps, new modes or anything else. Admittedly, we haven’t exactly embraced Hood: Outlaws & Legends (it didn’t steal our hearts when we reviewed it) but for £7.99, the price of the Ostara pass, you’d expect much more. You might be better off spending that money on chocolate Easter Eggs or sending it to Ukraine.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
