How to Enable Auto-Battle in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition

Wondering how to enable Auto-Battle mode in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition? You’ve come to the right place.

While there was no such thing as Auto-Battle in the original release of Chrono Cross, it’s one of a handful of new, useful features added to the Radical Dreamers re-release of the game. Using it allows the computer to act out your battles for you, giving you time to… well, twiddle your thumbs or doomscroll on your phone. (We highly recommend against doomscrolling). But how do you enable Auto-Battle?

Turning on Auto-Battle in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is very easy. All you need to do is push in both thumb sticks (L3 and R3) on your controller. That will toggle Auto-Battle mode on or off. It’ll stay enabled until you push both thumb sticks in again.

Is using Auto-Battle mode worth it? Well, that’s entirely down to you. There may be a good reason why you don’t want to engage in a fight yourself; random encounters can get tedious, for example. But using Auto-Battle means your characters won’t fight to the best of their abilities. They’ll only use standard attacks repeatedly, and will ignore the game’s elemental system.

It’s a nice option to have, then, but we’d recommend leaving Auto-Battle off in Chrono CrossThe Radical Dreamers Edition for the most part. Turn it on if you get tired of random battles, sure, but you’ll get most out of the game if you engage in fights yourself. And don’t forget you can turn off random battles altogether if you prefer – that’s probably a better solution to your problems.
