Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is Hitting the Nintendo Switch this July, Much Earlier than Anticipated

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Originally pencilled in for a September release, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is arriving this July.

No, this is real – a game is being released much, much earlier than scheduled. Despite the title, this action RPG also forms part of the long-running Xeno series which begin in 1998 with Xenogears. This latest entry sees you hacking, slashing and jumping your way around an open world, dispatching all manner of enemies, including some extremely pointy creatures.

You’ll play as protagonists Noah and Mio; the former specialises in close-range combat, while the latter specialises in distracting enemies. Other characters will also join the battle, leaving you to decide how their talent do – or don’t – compliment each other. We had good things to say about the definitive edition of the original Xenoblade Chronicles so we’re hoping this third entry will deliver.

We won’t have that long to wait since Nintendo has revealed that it’s set to hit the Nintendo Switch this July 29th. Nintendo has yet to state why it’s been moved up, but they have revealed that you’ll also be able to get your hands on a special edition which sports a hardcover art book and more.

They’ve also put out an eye-pleasing new trailer, which you can watch above. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch and will be available physically and digitally this July 29th.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
