Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2, arriving this May, will see you dispatching more all-but-indescribable horrors.
Yes, we could nitpick over their “untold” status, given that Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 is telling everyone, but we got a kick out of the original, so we’ll let that fly. In our review of original action-RPG Lovecraft’s Untold Stories we said that “..slaughtering your way through the hordes is a satisfying and challenging experience”. We did also point out that the game didn’t gain all that much from being associated with author H.P. Lovecraft, so we have our fingers crossed that this follow-up will make more of that connection.
This sequel looks set to offer more shooting action, although it’ll also introduce crafting which, depending on how it’s handled could be a blessing or a curse. This time around there’ll be six characters to play as, with the Medium, Veteran and Alienist joining the roster. And yes, the slimy things culled from Lovecraft’s lore will also make a return, alongside the cultists who worship those nasties.
Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 is also set to be tougher than the original, so if you’ve not tackled the first game it might be time to dive in. You can check out the trailer below, wishlist it on Steam, or get your hands on it when it arrives this May 17, 2022 on PC, Mac and Linux.
