Digimon Survive arrives next month – are you ready to catch ’em all?
The correct answer is “no”, and not just because that’s a different franchise’s catchphrase. Digimon Survive doesn’t cast you as some budding monster trainer, striving to achieve fame or fortune in a world which, no matter how you slice it, revolves around making animals fight.
Instead, your protagonist has found themselves lost in the Digimon dimension and has to find a way home. The game is a visual novel and monster-battler mash-up, complete with some gorgeous-looking anime sequences and surprisingly well animated character interactions.
The title might sound a little ominous and you’d be right to think so. Sure there’s going to be tactical combat, but you won’t be getting your head torn off by a blood-crazed Renamon. But your choices will, however, have consequences including, potentially, the death of other characters.

Digimon Survive was, originally, announced in 2018 and was set for a 2019 release; however, the pandemic got in the way and it was delayed several times. It’s now set for a July 29th 2022 release, landing on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.
