There’s been a Nintendo Direct today!
But don’t get too excited: it’s a ‘Mini’ Nintendo Direct. And it focuses on third party releases. Still, we’ve seen some great trailers. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
First up is an extended trailer for the upcoming expansion to Monster Hunter Rise, Sunbreak. It’s action-packed, as you’d expect, with some truly ferocious beasts to wage war against. You don’t have to wait very long for that: Sunbreak lands on 30th June. And following its release is a free Title Update, Seething Bazelgeuse, coming in August. More free updates, bringing new monsters, will follow in Autumn and Winter, and throughout 2023.
NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition
NieR: Automata is making its way to Switch! It come with previously released content, along with brand new costumes exclusive to Switch. It’ll be out on 6th October. Pre-orders are available from today.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
Here’s something new, and rather interesting looking. It’s a surreal puzzle adventure game, packed with thrills and chills. It’s coming from Annapurna and Simogo in 2023.
Super Bomberman R 2
A new Bomberman game is coming! It features a new ‘Castle’ mode, where 15 players all compete against each other. It’s set to release in 2023.
Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection
A collection of 10 Megaman Battle network games, originally released on Game Boy Advance, is coming to Switch. Like all good Legacy Collections, it comes with an art and music gallery. It’ll be available at some point next year.
Pac-Man World Re-PAC
A remake of Pac-Man World is coming to Switch on 26th August. This is a platform adventure rather than typical Pac-Man gameplay and… it looks quite good fun, actually.
Blanc
Blanc is a gorgeous line-crawn adventure about unlikely animal friends working together. Free of text or dialogue, its story is told completely visually. It looks beautiful. It’ll be a console exclusive on Switch, launching February 2023.
Return to Monkey Island
Arggg! Guybrush Threepwood is back! We already knew about Return to Monkey Island, but now ew get a fully-featured trailer. Sporting a fresh art style, it looks just as good as the series ever did, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. No release date, but it’s launching “first for consoles” on Nintendo Switch this year.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
First revealed last year, here’s a new trailer for Ubisoft and Nintendo’s crossover franchise. Strategic, turn-based battles return, allowing you to move freely around the battlefield before attacking. It looks wonderful, and it’s coming on 20th October. A special showcase will be held tomorrow at 5pm BST with more information.
Little Noah: Scion of Paradise
Landing later today, Little Noah: Scion of Paradise is a platform adventure game with RPG style combat. We’re looking forward to trying this one out.
Railgrade
A city builder game that focuses on railway building, this looks like a deep and challenging strategy game for those with the mettle to succeed. It’s coming this Autumn.
RPG Time: The Legend of Wright
A hand-drawn RPG, the events of the game take place inside someone’s notepad. It looks unique and beautiful, and we won’t have to wait too long: it’s out on 18th August.
Sonic Frontiers
Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers. Putting the blue blur in huge worlds, it combines the joy of Sonic with more open world exploration. It’s out this winter.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
Here’s one for classic Disney fans. It’s a life sim about restoring Dreamlight Valley, a world populated by familiar Disney and Pixar characters. It looks wonderfully relaxing, filled with building, cooking and exploration. It’s coming to Switch in Early Access (!) on 6th September.
Live a Live
Live a Live is coming to Switch in 22nd July. A demo with three chapters is available to try out later today, and your save data will transfer to the full game.
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is coming later this year. This farming simulator combines familiar characters with engaging life sim gameplay, and it sports a beautiful art style.
Minecraft Legends
Revealed during Xbox’s Showcase earlier this month, here’s another look at Minecraft Legends. And, of course, confirmation that it’s coming to Switch. It’s launching at some point next year.
Dragon Quest Treasures
A new Dragon Quest game is incoming! Dragon Quest Treasures is a spin-off from the main series. Team up with monsters to explore the world, hunting for treasure. It’s coming to Switch on 9th December.

Three Hopes launched last week, but here’s a tiny glimpse to remind you that it exists. Look out for our review very soon.
No Man’s Sky
We got the news last week that No Man’s Sky is coming to Switch. Here’s another glimpse of it; it’ll be available on 7th October.

The upcoming sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence is due to release on 18th October. It’ll be playable on Nintendo Switch at launch. thanks to a cloud version.
Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions
Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions is coming to Switch on 28th July. the trailer is brief, but it looks to combine strategy-led combat with action and storytelling.
Portal: Companion Collection
Here’s a pleasant surprise: Portal is coming to Switch. Later today.
Harvestella
Harvestella, from Square Enix, is a brand new title that combines life sim and RPG gameplay. Fans of classic JRPGs should get a huge kick out of this one, and we’re excited to see more. It’s out on 4th November.
Persona comes to Nintendo Switch
In a final announcement that surprises nobody, Persona is coming to Switch. Persona 5 Royal will land on the console on 21st October. It’ll be followed by Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden at a later date.
