Being a full price game, The Quarry is longer than entries in Supermassive Games’ Dark Pictures Anthology. And so, you might be wondering how long it takes to beat.
Following a group of camp counsellors spending a night in Hackett’s Quarry, this is a gory and tense creature feature where you decide the fate of its cast. It’s essentially a spiritual sequel to Until Dawn, with similar mechanics and format. But thanks to stellar writing and visuals, it’s more engaging than ever before. Interested in picking it up? You’ll probably want to know how long it takes to beat The Quarry first.
A typical playthrough of The Quarry will take between 7-10 hours. It’s largely dependent on two things: how much time you spend exploring areas when you have direct control, and how many characters you manage to keep alive. Get everyone killed, and the game will finish a little sooner than if you saved everyone.
The Quarry is also a little shorter to beat if you “play” in Movie Mode. We say “play”, as Movie Mode actually removes all gameplay elements. Instead, you simply choose what outcome you’d like, then you can sit back and watch the action unfold. As a result, the running time is a little shorter as you don’t have to explore, complete puzzles or make decisions.
