King Arthur: Knight’s Tale Free Seasonal Update, The Chained God is Here

King Arthur: Knight's Tale

Want to an excuse to dive back into King Arthur: Knight’s Tale? The Chained God, a big chunk of free season content, could be just what you need.

It also sounds, massively, massively ominous and casts you as “the mighty Fomorians, the brutal and terrifying giants of Avalon,” so you can count on there being an awful lot of blood. We reviewed King Arthur: Knight’s Tale when it hit the PC in May, concluding that the tactical RPG was, “a treat for those who love RPGs they can sink their teeth into” so we’re definitely here for more mythology-based murder.

You can find the complete update notes here, but there’s a fair amount on offer, including:

  • A brand new chain of short story missions
  • Reworked endgame with dozens of new maps
  • Significantly reduced install size
  • New gameplay mechanics
  • New high-level items
  • New building in Camelot
  • Balance changes

If you’re wondering why the “bad guys” are getting involved it’s because, despite the title, it isn’t all saving maidens and dancing on tables. Instead of making you Sir Lancelot it casts you as Sir Mordred, King Arthur’s former nemesis, which could well wrong-foot you from the word go

If being a bad boy isn’t reason enough to dive in, the game’s 35% off in the Steam Sale, making it a little over £20.00. The update is live now, another neat touch being that it will reduce your install size by an average of 60%. And if you’ve yet to pick up your sword, you can buy King Arthur: Knight’s Tale from the Steam Store here.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
