Way of the Hunter

This August, Way of the Hunter Invites You to Bring Home the Venison

Way of the Hunter, which sees you trading meetings and spreadsheets for shotguns and rifles, now has an August 16th release date.

We should hastily point out that none of the aforementioned shotgunnery takes place in an office environment – this is Way of the Hunter, not The Belko Experiment: The Game. Instead, your protagonist will spend the weekend roaming around two hunting reserves, taking their frustrations out on a range of animals.

Assuming, that is, you actually decide to participate in the animal murder – just roaming around the reserve in a jeep is an option; in fact, the trailer doesn’t feature a single cervine demise. With two wide open areas, filled with free-roaming animals, it seems as if Way of the Hunter is taking its cues from theHunter: Call of the Wild which provided a gorgeous hunting backdrop.

Also like, theHunter, Way of the Hunter will allow you to purchase additional hunting reserves. That’s not to say the included reserves are set to be rubbish – one set in Europe, one in America, they’re a massive 55 square miles in size and should provide plenty of opportunity for lurking in the undergrowth.

Way of the Hunter also promises “realistic behavior models”, which we’re definitely intrigued by. theHunter’s animals were fun to just watch, but they never seemed to interact with each other – we have our fingers crossed Way of the Hunter resolves that.

We won’t have to wait long to find out. Announced in April, Way of the Hunter is set for an August 16th release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. In the meantime, you can wishlist it on Steam or check out the above trailer.
