Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is leaving Steam Early Access and arriving on PC and console this October.
The strategy/action-RPG has been in Steam Early Access for a couple of years, receiving a multitude of updates, some in response to user feedback. Now, with Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord launching this October, you’ll be gathering an army and riding out into a divided realm, claiming territories for your own.
We went hands on with Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord back in 2020 and came away impressed and more than a little power-crazed. Yes, this is a strategy/action-RPG but if you forget about the former element you’ll be in trouble. It doesn’t matter how tough your character is, it’s the forces at your disposal that are likely to turn the tide of a battle.
The game will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The PC Early Access version will automatically be upgraded to the full version, though developer TaleWorlds Entertainment has confirmed that there will additional updates in the future.
“We’re looking forward to putting the game in the hands of our amazing community, which has been supporting us in consoles since Warband,” states Taleworlds CEO Armagan Yavuz. We’ll certainly be interested to see how “last gen” consoles handle the game – Bannerlord battles can involve an awful lot of units being thrown around the battlefield.
You’ll be able pre-order Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord in a few hours time, and the Steam Early Access version is available right now. You can also check out the trailer above for a taste of the battlefield mayhem that awaits you.
