Ooblets Gets a Full Release this September

Ooblets, after being in Early Access for two years, is getting a full release on PC and console.

Ooblets 1.0, the game’s full release, is released this September. The game, which blends life-sim and Pokémon style elements, launched in Early Access in 2022, with additional areas being added over the last couple of years. We were impressed by its early incarnation, so the final version should hopefully deliver.

The titular Ooblets are tiny creatures who, apart from assisting your in your endeavours, will participate in dance-offs against others of their kind. Yes, the battles aren’t lethal, though we’ll have to wait till September to find out whether, as is the case with Pokémon, people actually eat the Ooblets.

Ooblets will be launching onto PC, via the Epic Game Store, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The game is available through Early Access/Game Preview on PC and Xbox, which will then turn into the full version when it launches.

Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait till September, though at least it’s coming to that platform; if you’ve got a PlayStation you’re out of luck as Ooblets isn’t, so far, gracing the PS4 or PS5. It’s getting a physical Switch release, which you can order here, and will be available digitally on PC and Xbox.

So, if you’re a fan of life-sims, cute Pokémon-style creatures or forcing pets to participate in dance-offs, look up Ooblets when it releases on PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox this September 1st.
