How to Block in Steelrising

Steelrising review

Across your time with Steelrising, you’ll encounter of enemies of various shapes and sizes.

Some will slash at you with swords, others will hurl giant balls at you, and some will even shoot you from afar. Needless to say, avoiding all of their attacks can be troublesome at times. And so you might be wondering, can you block in Steelrising? And if so, how do you do it?

Firstly, yes, you can block in Steelrising. It’s not a part of your standard moveset, however. To be able to block, you need to have a weapon equipped that has Block as its special move. Numerous weapons are available with Block; if you don’t have one, check the Boutique the next time you’re at a Vestal. At least one will be available for purchase there.

When you have a weapon with the Block special move equipped, all you need to do is press and hold the special move button (the left trigger) to raise your shield and block. Just be aware that any hits you block will drain your stamina, and if you run out you’ll be left defenceless. Still, make effective use of the Block special move, and it will save your life on countless occasions.
