Last week, we reported that the first two entries to The Dark Pictures Anthology were getting next-gen updates. Today, they’ve come to fruition.
If you own Man of Medan or Little Hope on PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll get a free upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S version, as appropriate. As you’d expect, the new generation versions come with a myriad of improvements, making playing through them again a tempting prospect.
A full breakdown of the improvements made to the games has not been released, but it’s safe to say we can expect improved visuals and performance. These were already great-looking games, so we’re excited to jump in and see them looking their best.
If you don’t have a next-gen console just yet, you don’t need to miss out. Alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Man of Medan and Little Hope, both games have received a content update, available on all formats.
The free update includes the following in both games:
- New difficulty settings and QTE warnings
- Improved user interface and interactions
- Updated bearing art and event triggers
- Increased walking speeds
- More accessibility options (including subtitle sizing)
Additionally, Man of Medan now has a brand new bonus chapter. Called Flooded, it adds new gameplay and new deaths to the ending of the game.
So: if you’re yet to play Man of Medan and Little Hope, now’s the perfect time to jump in. Or perhaps you simply want to revisit them before the next game in the series, The Devil In Me, drops in November.
