Amazon’s has released the first glimpse of the Fallout series that’s currently in development.
Unfortunately, it’s just a single screenshot. Given that it was released to coincide with the Fallout game’s 25th anniversary, we’d have expected the Fallout series to at least get a short teaser trailer. But given that production only started in July of this year, we can understand why Amazon chose not to give us full-on footage.
The good news is that it looks impressive enough, featuring a view of Vault 33. If you’re struggling to remember which game that was in, stop right now. Vault 33 is a new vault that doesn’t feature in the games, meaning we’ll get to find out whether it was a regular control vault or if Vault-Tec made it some horrifying experiment.
It looks very much as if someone’s returning from the post-apocalyptic wasteland, stepping into the vault. Could it be a time to celebrate – that, not unlike the original Fallout, a former resident has hunted down the vital component the vault dwellers need to survive?
It certainly looks that way. At least it does, until you notice the dead or unconscious form at the top left hand side of the screen. Maybe the Overseer objected to the Vault Dwellers return.
Congratulations and Happy 25th Birthday! We made something special for the occasion. #Fallout #Fallout25 @BethesdaStudios @Bethesda @Fallout @Kilter_Films pic.twitter.com/eFg7t5O8Wa

We’ll have to wait a while to find out, since the series has no air date as yet. But it’s good to see that the series hasn’t forgotten about the Vaults. Our one fear was that it’d just become generic Mad Max style post-apocalyptic series, instead of doing justice to the games. We’ll keep you posted if we hear more.
