How to Change Ammo in A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale Requiem Review 3 (1)

You can craft various types of ammo – sling and otherwise – in A Plague Tale: Requiem. But how do you switch types? Here’s how.

A Plague Tale: Requiem sometimes has you using special ammo to solve a puzzle or clear a path. Other times, it’s down to you how you use the ammunition/object type, whether we’re talking about sling ammo, clay pots or so forth. But how do you change ammo?

First, to change ammo in A Plague Tale: Requiem, you need to have or have crafted the ammunition in question, eg burning sling ammo or burning pots. Lucas will teach you how to craft flaming or “ignifer” ammo, however that won’t happen until Chapter 2. You’ll also be able to unlock more ammo types as the game progresses.

Once you have crafted the ammo, you need to hold down the right shoulder button to select your weapon/object type. So, for example:

  • Hold down RB/R1 to open the weapon/item wheel
  • Select the sling
  • Then, press the left or right directional button to switch ammo. If you don’t have that type of ammo, but you do have enough resources, hold the appropriate button to craft it
  • Release RB/R1

And there you go. As long as you have enough ammo, that ammo type will have been selected. One final word of warning about the sling – something that cost us because we kept forgetting – it makes a lot of noise. If you’re not fast off the mark, a nearby enemy will hear you swinging it around.

So that’s how you change ammo in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Enjoy raising hell with your sling.
