How to Heal in A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Are you dying horribly in A Plague Tale: Requiem and want to know how to heal? Here’s how.

There are some unpleasant player deaths in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Sure, the camera angle prevents you watching a guard sink his axe into Amicia’s skull, but she can still get skewered by a spear. Get too close to a horde of rats and they’ll finish her off in a few seconds. So, when Amicia does take damage, can you heal her?

Yes, but you can’t apply a first aid kit or anything. The way protagonist Amicia’s health works is that she can take a few hits, typically two, before she’s dead. You can also counter an enemy though if that enemy is wearing a helmet (and you don’t have a dagger) you won’t be able to do more than flee.

So, when Amicia takes a hit and the screen changes colour, run as fast you can and find somewhere to take a breather. Hiding under a table might seem like an obvious choice but be warned: enemies will drag you from under tables. We recommend you put some distance between you and your foe (or foes).

Wait a short while and the screen will return to normal, signifying she’s healed. Even if you could use a health kit, the guards would likely be on you before you could use it. As for rats, if you get too close, quickly back away. You’ve only got a second or so before they devour Amicia.

So, in A Plague Tale: Requiem, you heal, energy shield-style, by keeping out of danger.
