Super Rare Games has announced that Super Rare Mixtape Vol. 4 is going on sale this week.
The publisher has, since August of last year, been putting out Super Rare Mixtape “cassettes” that contain thirty full indie PC games and several demos. Why the quotation marks? Because the cassettes aren’t actually cassettes. Instead, they’re USB drives designed to look like full-sized cassette tapes. But, even so, it’s a delightfully retro-styled way to present these indie titles.
Aside from games and demos, Super Rare Mixtape Vol. 4 will also feature soundtracks, dev diaries and more. The full games included are as follows:

True, you could download these games from itch.io. But half the fun is getting to experience games you might not otherwise have stumbled across.
However, that’s not the most interesting mixtape-related news. Super Rare will be putting out one more series tape, then moving onto mixtapes where the games are grouped by theme. It’s too late for Halloween this year, but we’re imagining a Super Rare Games Halloween 2023 mixtape, complete with a blood red cassette and gore-spattered box.
Who knows, Maybe Super Rare could work out a collaboration with the Haunted PlayStation Demo Disc team, and put a good handful of their creepy, PS1-styled nightmares on there. As for Vol. 4, orders start this October 6th at 6PM BST/1PM EDT/10AM PDT and limited to 1,500 copies. It’ll be on sale for for £34.80, from the Super Rare Games store.
