Are you wondering how to change your work outfit in The Sims 4? Here’s what you need to know.
Interacting with a dresser or a wardrobe as a Sim will allow you to change up any number of their outfits. You can choose their everyday wear, their formal wear, their sportswear, and more. But one option is missing: their work outfit. Here’s the bad news: by default, The Sims 4 does not allow you to change the clothes your Sim wears for work.
There are probably several good reasons for this. Your Sim might wear a work uniform, depending on what job they do, and so their outfit is dictated by their employer. If they work in a hospital, you don’t exactly want them turning up for their shift in beachwear, do you? Or maybe you do. This is The Sims 4, after all, and in The Sims 4, you are god.
Thankfully, not all is lost. If you do want to have control over what your Sims wear to work, you can use a cheat.
You’ll need to use a CAS Full Edit (CAS being shorthand for ‘Create a Sim’) cheat in order to change your Sim’s work outfit. You can read more about CAS Full Edit cheats here.
Beware that using a cheat in The Sims 4 disables achievements and may block other areas of progression, too. If you’re fine with that, go right ahead. Follow the steps below to change your work outfit in The Sims 4.
- Bring up the cheat dialogue box. If you’re on PC, press Ctrl + Shift + C. On console, hold down both shoulder buttons and both triggers.
- Now you need to enable cheats. In the dialogue box, type in testingcheats true and press enter.
- Bring up the cheat dialogue box again, and now it’s time to use a CAS cheat. Type in sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas. The Create a Sim window should now open up.
- Use Create a Sim as you normally would, browsing clothing items and selecting what you want your Sim to wear. When you’re done, click the tick at the bottom of the screen.
And that’s it: you’ve now edited your Sims’ work outfit, and whenever they get ready to leave for work, they’ll change into what you’ve selected. Have fun.
