This New Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Trailer Introduces its Gloomy Universe

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

New to the Warhammer 40,000 universe? This new Warhammer 40,000: Darktide trailer will bring you up to speed.

Narrated by an imposing commanding officer, this latest Warhammer 40,000: Darktide trailer underlines that humanity, as a whole, exists to serve the God Emperor. People have an almost fanatical devotion to their Emperor, even though he’s not spoken for years.

It also offers a glimpse of warp space travel, with all manner of Lovecraftian nasties attempting to hitch a ride or get their tentacles into peoples’ heads. Forget Star Wars or even Dune’s take on faster-than-light travel, this is some nasty, nasty stuff. The Forces of Chaos will do anything to infiltrate the universe and only you can stop them.

The trailer also shows one of this action RPG’s squads fleeing from a more solid, slimy beast, as they roam one of humanity’s hive cities. Hive cities get seedier the further you go down and your squad will be making their way into the depths. We’re sure they’ll be fine.

If you’ve played either of the Vermintide games you’ll have an idea of the chaos you’re going to face.  It’s a four-player co-op game but you should be able to play solo, with AI bots. However, it’s not yet clear if it works offline. It’s been delayed a couple of times but we have our fingers crossed that it’ll make its November release date.

You can pick up Warhammer 40,000: Darktide when it launches this November 30th on PC, with an Xbox release to follow later.
