Core Keeper’s Christmas Event is a Festive Treat

Core Keeper Christmas

Christmas really has come early in the world of Core Keeper.

Landing tomorrow, the Christmas Seasonal Event is Core Keeper‘s biggest seasonal update yet, changing just about every aspect of the game. Much of that is simply a cosmetic change, turning enemies into festive snowmen and the like. There’s also a smattering of snow on the ground in most biomes: you can almost feel a Christmas chill in the air. But there are more festive treats to look forward to – many of them we haven’t yet discovered.

You’ll quickly find plates of Christmas cookies in your inventory, for example. Try to eat them and you can’t: useful only as a gift for Santa Claus, perhaps? We know that by exploring the vastness of Core Keeper, more holiday surprises are going to be waiting, and we can’t wait to come across them over the next few weeks.

But even if it’s business as usual for you as you play, you won’t be able to escape the extra jolly festive feeling of everything. You can dress up in new festive outfits, for example. And festive items are available for you to craft, including Christmas trees, toasty burning fireplaces, and treasure chests decorated to look like gingerbread houses. It’s all rather delightful, particularly when coupled with the snow-laden ground.

Snowballs are of course on the menu, too, collectible from any snow-covered environment. Lobbing them at an enemy might not do too much damage, but it’s fun nonetheless. Especially when that enemy has a Christmas makeover of its own.

We love when games fully embrace the spirit of the holidays, and Core Keeper has done a fantastic job of getting us all in Christmas mode. If you haven’t played for a little while, now’s the time to jump in. The Christmas update is live from tomorrow, 13th December and will remain in-game until 5th January. That’s three whole weeks of festive fun. Don’t miss out.
