After a delay or two, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. But is it coming out on PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch?
Sure, the game is great but, right now, you need a reasonably meaty PC or a next-gen console to play it. But what about those people with “last gen” consoles? Are they being left out? Is Marvel’s Midnight Suns coming to PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch?
Well, we’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that, as of right now, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is coming to those consoles. It was in fact, announced for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The bad news is that these versions of the game have no release date. According to publisher 2K, “Launch timing for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game will be confirmed at a later date.”
The company chose to prioritise the next-gen versions, as it states on that same page. So, in theory, the last-gen versions should be coming out at some point. And, at the time of writing, 2K haven’t cancelled these versions.
However, the company will almost certainly be looking at whether it’s profitable to release those versions, later down the line. It may be that it decides to cut its losses and cancel them. Or, after seeing how Midnight Suns performs on PC and next-gen consoles, it may go ahead with the release.
So, so far, the answer is yes, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is coming to PS4, Xbox One and Switch. But with no release window, even a release year, that could change.
