MultiVersus Adds The Iron Throne and The Rock’s Black Adam

Multiversus Game of Thrones

Can you smell what Black Adam is cooking? You can now that the Dwayne Johnson version of the character has joined MultiVersus.

Black Adam was added to the platform brawler last year, but now there’s a skin which will let you play as the version from the recent feature film. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Zachary Levi’s Shazam will also be joining the MultiVersus roster. Why? Because with the state of the DC Cinematic Universe, neither Shazam 3 or Black Adam 2 are a certainty.

Aside from Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, there’s also another new addition to Multiversus. Game of Thrones’ throne room is now a playable stage, complete with the Iron Throne. Who wouldn’t want to duke it out in one of the shows’ most iconic locations?

Except.. it actually looks a bit underwhelming. The Iron Throne featured in the show was much smaller than the one author George R.R. Martin described in his books. However, the stage shows the throne from a distance and it looks a little weedy. Still, if you’re a Game of Thrones fan it could be fun.

Both the throne room and The Rock’s Black Adam are available in MultiVersus right now, though the former is in in-game purchase. If you’re wondering if you should give the game a try – it’s free – check out our impressions of the game here.

Is it going to knock Super Smash Bros. Melee off its platform-brawler perch? Probably not but it comes pretty close and if you’ve not got a Switch you can do worse than punching Batman into orbit.

MultiVersus is free-to-play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
