Returnal Crash-Lands on PC this February

Returnal PC

Returnal is bringing its time-looping shootery to PC, and it’s arriving this February 15th.

Returnal, which originally hit the PlayStation 5 in 2021, casts you astronaut Selene. After crash-landing on an alien planet, she ends up fighting for her life. And then she dies. And then it starts all over again. Yes, it’s Groundhog Day time, each death bringing you that one step closer to figuring out what’s going on.

We absolutely loved the PlayStation 5 version, calling it “..not only Housemarque’s best game to date, but perhaps also the best game currently available on PS5.” And now it’s coming to PC this February, you should absolutely dive into its brain-scrambling monster-filled world.

At least, you should if you can run it. You can check out the full system specs on Sony’s PlayStation Blog, but the minimum specs are as follows:

  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 (4 core 2.7GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (4 core 3.5GHz)
  • Memory: 16 GB DDR4
  • Storage: 60 GB HDD (SSD Recommended)
  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit

Those are the specs you’ll need to run the game at 60FPS in 720p, so it won’t look quite as pretty as on the PS5. But with enough power, Returnal should look absolutely dazzling. And, if your PC does have a high enough spec, there’s a neat bonus.

The PC version of Returnal supports ray-traced reflections, rather than just ray-traced shadows as is the case on the PS5. Whether you’ll notice the difference is another question entirely – chances are you’ll be too busy getting murdered by aliens to notice. But it’s a welcome addition, regardless.

Returnal will arrive on PC this February 15th, via the Epic Games Store and the Steam Store, priced at $59.99.
