Amnesia: The Bunker Has Been Delayed Until May

Amnesia: The Bunker, which was set for a March release date, won’t see the light of day till May.

Actually, maybe “light of day” is the wrong way to put it. since Amnesia: The Bunker locks you away from sunlight. The latest in the Amnesia series it and casts you as as a French soldier trapped inside a WWI bunker. What could possibly go wrong?

Yes, you’ve got a gun but don’t count on this being a shoot-em-up. From what we’ve seen so far, it’s more Alien: Isolation than Resident Evil. Your bullets will, hopefully, give the “dynamic and ever-present monster,” pause for thought. But don’t count on just being able to shoot it in the head.

It was originally set for a March 2023 release date, arriving on PC, PlayStation and Xbox but that’s now been bumped to March. According to developer Frictional Games’ statement, it’s largely down to staff illness.

The statement also reiterates that they are a small team, so we can well understand how that could prove a problem. Yes, we’ve been guilty of grumbling when a game’s been put back. But a delay is infinitely preferable to a dev team damaging their health.

So, Amnesia: The Bunker is now set for a May 16th 2023 release. In the meantime, why not grab the original Amnesia Collection from the PlayStation store, priced at a ridiculous £2.39.
