Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is getting a PlayStation 5 patch today, but it’s not the next-gen upgrade you might have been hoping for.
Like every PlayStation 4 game, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate runs on the PlayStation 5. But while it’s technically playable, it’s not particularly pretty. This parkour-heavy action game is, if you run it on the PS5, plagued by flickering and other issues. In other words, you can play it but the glitches could drive you up the wall.
That’s why, Ubisoft is putting out a patch aimed at solving the flickering issues. Dubbed Title Update 1.53, it’ll arrive today and, provided you’re connect to the internet, it should auto-download. And, fingers crossed, no more flickering issues.
We’re certainly glad to see this issue resolved. We’re big fans of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, not least because it’s set in Victorian London. In our review, we called it “..an essential open-world adventure that fans of the genre or Assassin’s Creed should not miss.”
But what about the Xbox Series X|S? The game has been running on that platform without issue, so this one is just for PS5 owners. The slightly disappointing news is that the patch won’t do anything else – this isn’t the kind of next-gen upgrade that some game get.
We're happy to announce that Assassin's Creed Syndicate will receive an update tomorrow, February 23, on PlayStation 4.

Still, if you’ve been craving some Old London antics, you’ll be able to arm up and take on the town without fear of your eyes bleeding.
