Dead Island 2 has gone gold… and it’s arriving a week early? What Mandela Effect nonsense is this?
But it’s all true – Dead Island 2, after spending several years in development is not only coming out this April, it’s arriving a week earlier than planned. Given that this horror action game is its on its third developer we’re surprised it’s arriving at all. But no, this is a real thing that’s actually happening.
The game takes the zombie-splattering antics of the original and relocates it to Los Angeles. We’re definitely curious to see how it pens the player in. The first game took place on island but LA is a different kettle of reanimated fish. Whether it’s hit the rest of the mainland isn’t clear but if Resident Evil 3 is anything to go by, whoever’s in charge has their finger hovering over a big red button.
Aside from tweeting out this new release date, developer Dambuster Studios has also revealed a few other tidbits about the game. These include:
- The HUD will have multiple customisation options.
- It sports Japanese subtitles, as well as other languages.
- You can expect more detailed gameplay breakdowns between now and April.
- It’s definitely coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, alongside PC (via the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This has previously been announced but we’ve seen a couple of titles delay their last-gen versions.
So, given that it’s gone gold, Dead Island 2 will (we hope) arrive this April 21st. Please, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios, don’t make us liars.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re just off to check what colour C3PO’s right leg was, just to be sure.
