Guilty Gear Strive’s Latest DLC Character Has Been Delayed

Guilty Gear Strive has a new character in the works but they’re going to be in hiding for a little longer.

Guilty Gear Strive, the latest in the 2D fighting game series, launched in June of 2021, has received several paid DLC characters, not that the roster was short to begin with. The characters have included the excellently named Goldlewis Dickinson, Bridget (who first appeared in Guilty Gear X2) and many more.

However, the eight as-yet-unrevealed character has been delayed. They were set to be arrive this March, bundled with Season Pass 2, but that’s not happening. The good news is it’s not a long delay – the character in question will be arriving in early April, alongside a new stage.

So which character could it be? We’ve got our fingers crossed for ridiculously suave vampire slayer, but there are a handful of others it could be. It’s good to see old-school characters get a second airing. We’re still miffed that green spinny-blade guy Gen-an was dropped from the Samurai Showdown series.

Whoever it is, they’ll be available as both part of the Season Pass 2 bundle, or separately. The same will be true of the new stage which, again, has yet to be revealed. And if you’ve not played Guilty Gear Strive, check out our review to find out why you should dive in.
