It’s a very simple thing, but if you’re unsure of how to pan the camera in Company of Heroes 3, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.
Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time strategy game set in the mediterranean theatre of WWII. It relies on swift movement of your units into strategic areas, that you use to outflank, out-think and out-manoeuvre your opponent. And so, if you want to achieve this then you will need to know the battlefield inside and out. That means you’ll need to know how to pan and control the camera in Company of Heroes 3.
You have two options to control the camera in Company of Heroes 3: with the mouse, or with the keyboard. By default, the arrow keys move you up down and around the battlefield, while the mouse wheel zooms in and out.
You can also slide around the field using the cursor at the edge of the screen. Or by holding the mouse wheel down and dragging. There is also the option to zoom in and out using the ‘=’ and ‘-’ keys respectively.
Holding ‘ALT’ will also let you use WASD to move around the battlefield and turn the camera with the mouse. Be careful though: most keybindings are linked to WASD, and if you don’t have ALT down you can easily satchel charge your own units.
You can completely customise the controls by visiting ‘settings’. The ‘controls’ section will let you set whatever key bindings you want for panning the camera in Company of Heroes 3. Alternatively you can click on the minimap to quickly relocate the camera to the other end of the battlefield.
