How to Use Your Scanner in Atomic Heart

Atomic Heart review 2

As you make your way through Atomic Heart, you’ll be wanting to use your scanner in order to learn more about the world around you.

It can be used to highlight lootable items, for example, as well as identify enemy weaknesses. At the time of writing this guide, however, the in-game tutorial for using the scanner isn’t very clear at all. So, just how do you use the scanner in Atomic Heart, you might be wondering?

To use the scanner in Atomic Heart, you need to tap the right shoulder button twice and then keep it help after the second press. Your character will then create a shape with his hand, showing that scanning mode is enabled.

While scanning, things like enemies and cameras will be highlighted in orange – move your cursor over them, and more information will be revealed. Objects highlighted in blue are things you might want to investigate if you need more resources.

Once you’re done using the scanner, simply release the right shoulder button and your view will return to normal. Remember to make use of the scanner often, as it can certainly help you out when fighting tough enemies, and also locating useful items in the world.
