The Last of Us Part I PC Release Has Been Delayed

The Last of Us Part 1

There’s disappointing news for those waiting to experience the phenomenal The Last of Us Part I on PC.

Naughty Dog has announced that the title has been delayed by just over three weeks, meaning PC gamers will now have to wait until 28th March to immerse themselves in Joel and Ellie’s captivating story. It’s for a good reason though – the developer wants to make sure that it’s in the best state it can be before being unleashed on the public.

Published today on Naughty Dog’s official Twitter account, the statement reads:

“Let’s get right to it: We initially announced The Last of Us Part I PC release would be March 3, but we’ve decided to push its launch date out by just a few weeks: it will now be released on March 28. We are the studio have been completely blown away by the outpouring of love and support for The Last of Us these last few weeks. Hearing your love for the HBO adaptation, seeing your beautiful Photo Mode shots, and learning about how the world and characters our studio creted nearly a decade ago continue to reach new and old fans alike floors us every day. We know a lot of you have been revisiting the story that started it all with The Last of Us Part I on PlayStation 5 console, and we realize many of you have been excited to jump in – some for the first time – when Part I hits PC.

The Naughty Dog team appreciates your support and enthusiasm, and we look forward to sharing more about the Last of Us Part I PC version soon.”

Given the quality of recent Sony PlayStation ports, there’s a good chance that PC players will be in for a treat with The Last of Us Part I. The remake of what was undoubtedly Naughty Dog’s best game until its sequel arrived launched on PS5 last year, and quickly proved itself as the best way to experience its brilliant story. Even better, gameplay tweaks made it more enjoyable to play, too. And there are extensive accessibility options.

Recently turned into a hit HBO show, with three riveting episodes aired so far, the PC port of The Last of Us Part I is surely going to be worth the wait. So, strike 3rd March off your calendar and free up some time on 28th instead if you’re eager to jump in.
