You might be wondering if you can craft rope in Sons of the Forest. After all, it’s a pretty handy thing to have.
Rope is very handy, in fact. It’s used in various Sons of the Forest item/structures and you can even use it to make a zip line. So, knowing how useful it is, can you craft rope in Sons of the Forest?
Unfortunately, no, you can’t. The original The Forest let you craft rope out of cloth but no matter how much cloth you have you can’t craft rope. At some point we’d expect developer Endnight to let you do this. But, right now, this Early Access version of the game will not let you craft rope at all.
If you can’t craft it, where do you get rope in Sons of the Forest?
So, with crafting not being an option, what should you do? The answer is: search. Search everywhere. You’ll find rope in all sorts of containers, and sometimes it’ll just be lying around. For example, there’s a gruesome scene where you find a body dangling from a cliff. Apart from taking that person’s GPS locator, you can also find a coil of rope near them.
And don’t forget to smash up wooden boxes. Yes, you can search suitcases and equipment boxes but you’ll also find wooden boxes which need to be smashed with a weapon. You’ll find rope in some of those.
So, the answer to can you craft rope in Sons of the Forest is no, you’re going to have to search for it.
