How to Get and Use the Sled in Sons of the Forest

Sons of the Forest Kelvin

Wondering how to get and use the sled in Sons of the Forest? We don’t blame you, it’s a fun way of getting around the island. Here’s what you need to know.

Sons of the Forest isn’t all snow but if you want to make the most of the game’s snowy peaks you can get and use a sled. Even better, the sled works on grass as well as snow, though not quite as well. So, if you want to know how to get and use the sled in Sons of the Forest, here’s how.

First, to get the sled you need to 3D print it. Here’s our guide to finding a 3D printer. Once you’ve reached the 3D printer, use the laptop to select the sled and print it. There’s just over 900ml of resin in the printer, but you’ll need 1000ml. So what do you do?

If you’ve not printed anything before, have a look on both shelves in the room. You’ll find enough resin to bring the total up to 1000ml. When the printer pauses, activate it to add more resin.

If you’ve already used the 3D printer you’ll have to track down more resin elsewhere. Start searching the island, looking through equipment boxes and the like. Then, when you’ve got enough, go and print your sled.

How do you use the sled in Sons of the Forest?

To use the sled, you need to equip it. Then, find a slope, snowy or not and jump in the air. Then, hit the primary activation button – left mouse button if you’re using a mouse. Hey presto, off you go. Slopes and drops that would do you serious damage can now be sledded down. Just try not to hit anything at speed.

And that’s all you need to know about getting and using the sled in Sons of the Forest.
