Parrying attacks is very important in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, as it’s one of the best ways to deplete an opponent’s spirit meter, leaving them wide open to a Fatal Attack. It’s especially important that you parry powerful enemy attacks that flash red, as you can’t block them and they’re very powerful indeed. But just how to you parry attacks in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?
What might throw you is that you don’t parry attacks in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty with a carefully timed press of the block button, like in most action games. Instead, it has a dedicated button, which is Circle when playing with a PlayStation controller and B when playing with an Xbox controller. To parry, or deflect attacks, you need to press that button just before an enemy attack hits you. Get it right, an you’ll deflect the attack, opening up your opponent for a counter attack while also reducing their spirit.
Learn to parry attacks in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and you’ll find yourself having a much easier time. If you’re having trouble, practice parrying the attacks of weaker enemies. Also, try all weapon types available, as it’s easier to parry with some of them. And try not to mash the deflect/parry button, as you might end up dodging instead.
