Are you unsure of how to slow down or speed up time while playing Hotel Renovator? Here’s what you need to know.
Hotel Renovator, available now on PC, is a simulation game from Horizons and Focus Entertainment that tasks you with renovating a run-down hotel from scratch. You’re in charge of remodelling all of the bedrooms, the lobby and guest areas like the restaurant and terrace. Once you’ve renovated your first bedroom, you’ll start getting guests who’ll check in and out, earning you money. Helpfully, you can speed up and slow down time in Hotel Renovator, helping you optimise your workflow. But how do you do it?
There are three speed settings to choose from: regular, fast, and super fast. You can see them indicated in the top-right hand corner of the screen. And so, to toggle through them to speed or up slow down time while playing Hotel Renovator, you simply need to press the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons on your keyboard.
If you’re playing with a controller, you can speed up and slow down time by pressing up and down on your d-pad. You’ll need to make sure you don’t have any other tool selected for this to work.
If you’re wondering if you can pause time entirely while playing Hotel Renovator, the answer is you can’t. You can simply set to ‘normal’, which is the slowest time can move. To pause the game, press the start button on a controller or the escape button on a keyboard.
Be warned: with the highest speed selected, time moves very quickly. It means you’ll need to keep stopping what you’re doing to clean bedrooms, which isn’t ideal when you’re in the middle of a renovation. It’s probably worth using the slowest time setting, even if it means money won’t come in quite as quickly.
