Resident Evil 4 Remake Bell

Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Village Fight Can Be Skipped and it’s Pretty Clever

It’s been revealed that you can skip the better part of the Resident Evil 4 village fight, with this one neat trick.

If you’ve yet to play the Resident Evil 4 remake, be warned, we’re going to get into spoiler territory here. Shortly after you start the game, you’ll find yourself in a village, a village which is populated by Plagas-possessed Ganados.

The normal way things go is you fight or run until a bell rings, at which point the villagers head off to church. You can then proceed on your way, problem solved. However, there’s also a way to get them to clear out early.

As pointed out by Twitter user @KuyaDenzel95 (who credits Reddit users Sorekasho and Tactical_Banter), you can shoot the bell. The best way to do this is to go into the building where Leon barricades the door. Then, go upstairs and onto the small roof. You’ll see, beyond the tree, the tip of the church tower.

Hit the church tower’s bell with a bullet and it’ll ring, summoning the villagers to church. The catch is that you’ll need a scoped rifle so this is something won’t be able to do on your first playthrough. That means you’ll have experienced the regular village fight at least once.

But it’s something we’d certainly not thought of and we tip our hats to Capcom for making this possible. If you’ve not played the Resident Evil 4 remake, check out our review here. It’s available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
