With its release just over a month away, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has a new story trailer, underlying just how miserable protagonist Cal Kestis is.
We can’t blame him, what with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor taking place five years after the previous game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. That’s five years on the run, dodging Inquisitors and old bucket-head himself, Darth Vader.
Sure, he could have gone into hiding but previous trailers have confirmed he’s been a thorn in the Empire’s side, so he’s been actively taking them on. Could we see him felling the Empire? Of course not, since – from the movies – we know he’s not the one who pulls the plug.
But the trailer does make this upcoming Star Wars slash-em-up look pretty intriguing. Getting the gang back together, Cal is intent on making it to a new place where the Empire can’t find him. What’s the betting they get there and it’s already a smoking ruin? If there’s one thing The Walking Dead has taught us, it’s that things can always get worse.
The trailer also confirms the return of Nightsister Merrin, Cal’s potential love interest. She’s with Cal and his crew when they’re talking about finding a refuge, so we can assume this is more than just a brief cameo.
You can check out the trailer above and get your hands on the game when it arrives on on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC this April 28th.
