Narrative cooking game Venba is set to arrive on Game Pass, the day of its release.
That’s the good news – so if you’re a PC or Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ll be able to explore Venba’s Indian cookery the day it releases. Venba is also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC.
Previously available to play at the Tribeca Festival, it casts you as the titular Venba, an Indian mother who emigrates to Canada in the 80s. Woven in with the Cooking Mama-style gameplay, it will also tell a story of love, loss and family.
Sporting an eye-catching art style, it also tasks you with piecing together the missing parts from your mother’s cookbook, which was damaged in transit. Apparently the recipes will work in real life, too, which could be worth trying.
In short, it sounds very intriguing. So what’s the bad news? While it was set for a Spring 2023 release, it’s been pushed back to Summer 2023. It’s not the end of the world, though. It just gives us more time to sample some authentic(ish) takeaways. You know, all in the name of serious journalism.
In the meantime, you can check out the trailer above and wishlist Venba on Steam here.
