Sons of the Forest will, if you’re playing on normal difficulty, leave you with a lot of bodies, both cannibal and mutant. But just what can you do with them?
As each play through goes on, Sons of the Forest will leave you more and more bodies. Cannibals and mutants attack in force, getting more aggressive as the game goes on. Those bodies will, eventually, disappear. But in the meantime, is there anything you can do with them?
The answer is yes, but be warned, we’re going to get a bit gruesome. Firstly, the only thing you can do with mutant bodies, depending on which mutant we’re talking about, is skin them. You can then use their skin as creepy armour which, while gross, offers some physical protection. It may also make some cannibals think twice about attacking you.
As for the cannibals themselves? You’ve got much more choice here. You can pick up the entire body and hurl it onto a fire. That will give you bones and a skull. You can use the bones for bone armour, as a club or to make a few other items. And the skull? You can skewer it on a stick to make the cannibals a little more nervous or, again, craft it.
Or, if you want to get really nasty, you can hack arms and legs off the bodies and eat them, cooked or raw. As for the heads? You can equip them and show to them to cannibals to scare them a little but that’s not foolproof protection. You can do the same with skulls.
Arms can also be used to hit enemies with which, while silly, isn’t going to do an awful lot of damage. But if you want to lean into Sons of the Forest’s more ridiculous elements, go right ahead.
And that’s what you use bodies for in Sons of the Forest. Don’t have nightmares.
