A New Aliens: Dark Descent Trailer Showcases its Chest-Bursting Story

Aliens Dark Descent Pre-Order Trailer

Aliens: Dark Descent has a new story trailer featuring Xenomorphs, a Working Joe android and.. a Strogg?

The new pre-order Aliens: Dark Descent trailer delves into this upcoming strategy game’s storyline and has a creature that’s a dead ringer for one of Quake 2 and Quake 4’s antagonists, the Strogg. So what’s going on?

As it confirms, Aliens: Dark Descent (announced last year) is set to feature a brand new story. Going by the trailer, someone was trying to smuggle Xenomorphs (eggs, we assume) when the transport ship crashed. It’s not clear how the Working Joes, the uncanny androids from Alien: Isolation fit in, but your team of marines will have to their work cut out for them.

The Strogg-like creature is seen alongside the Xenomorphs, with them either obeying or ignoring them. Our money is on it being someone the Weyland Yutani company has screwed over. All those implants may be the only things keeping them alive.

There’s a new, nastier-looking Alien on show, too. The regular Aliens are scary enough, but we get why developer Tindalos Interactive would want to mix things up. On the one hand, the Aliens are absolute murder machines but, on the other, the game actually has to be fun.

The trailer also serves as a reminder that Aliens: Dark Descent is available for pre-order right now. It arrives this June 20th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
