- Available on: PC
Are you looking for the most realistic boxing experience currently available? Undisputed is the game for you. While Undisputed is in early access, it already has a wealth of content for players to dive into. A campaign mode is coming further down the line, but right now you can engage in fights against the CPU or other players online, and it’s an absolute blast. With its impressive roster of fighters and realistic graphics, this is undoubtedly the best boxing game you can play right now. It might even be the best.
2. Creed: Rise to Glory
- Available on: PS4, PS5 & PC
Step into the shoes of Adonis Creed and defeat all those silly enough to want to face off against you in Creed: Rise to Glory. This VR-only title is a true contender for the title of best boxing game, and allows you to get right into the thick of the action. Training with the legendary Rocky Balboa, you’ll defeat opponents to climb the ranks and eventually prove yourself as the champion. You’ll need to be relatively fit yourself though, as you’ll be throwing the punches and dodging and weaving. So, if you’re after the best boxing games you can play right now, give this your attention. An updated version has just been released for PSVR 2 as well.
3. Fight Night Champion
- Available on: Xbox One & Xbox Series X/S
It may be rather old now, but Fight Night Champion is still one of the best boxing games available. Playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S thanks to backwards compatibility, it offers an engrossing story mode and so much more. The action here is brutal and hard-hitting. And while it’s a game that’s a few generations old, it still looks pretty decent on modern consoles and plays excellently. It’s just a shame that EA hasn’t made a new entry in the series.
4. Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions
- Available on: PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC
If you want some boxing action and don’t care about it being realistic, you might want to give Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions a go. Play as Rocky, Creed, or any of the other characters included from the iconic film franchise in intense match-ups that play out more like what you’d expect from a standard fighting game. Still, there’s plenty of content to go at, and its combination of easy to pick up controls and fun visuals make it accessible to a wide audience.
5. UFC 4
- Available on: PS4, Xbox One & PC
Okay, so UFC 4 may not exactly be what you’re looking for. While it’s primarily focused on mixed martial arts, however, you can create or play as fighters that adopt more of a boxing fighting style. In any case, thanks to realistic striking mechanics, impressive visuals and extensive roster of fighters, UFC 4 is an impressive game in its own right. And while boxing isn’t its sole focus, we reckon boxing fans will still get a lot out of it.
6. Boxing Gym Story
- Available on: PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC
This one’s a little leftfield, but if the idea of managing your own boxing gym sounds interesting, why not check out Boxing Gym Story? You’ll not find any gritty realism here, but Boxing Gym Story allows you to develop fighters, create a range of valuable facilities, and eventually create a boxing empire to be proud of. Get stuck into Boxing Gym Story and you might get hooked, spending hours managing all aspects of your gym. And just look at it: its colourful pixelated visuals are utterly charming.
