2. The Hong Kong Massacre

Inspired by classic Hong Kong action movies, The Hong Kong Massacre is a stylish top-down shooter that offers a visceral gaming experience akin to John Wick. Similar to Hotline Miami Collection above, you’re invited to explore the gritty criminal underworld. Here though, you’re able to use slow-motion and diving mechanics to dodge bullets and eliminate enemies with precision. The game’s destructible environments and cinematic visuals elevate the action, too. If you’ve watched the the latest John Wick movie, you may even get déjà vu while playing The Hong Kong Massacre: a certain top-down section was stated to have been inspired by the game according to the director.

3. Sleeping Dogs

Set in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, Sleeping Dogs is an open-world action-adventure game that fans of John Wick are bound to fall in love with. It’s a bit old now, having originally been released in 2012, but thanks to Sleeping Dogs‘ engaging story and rich world, it’s still a must-play for fans of John Wick looking for something similar to play. We just hope if gets a sequel someday.

4. Wanted: Dead

While we weren’t too hot on it in our review, Wanted: Dead is a third-person action game set in a brutal and unforgiving world that fans of John Wick will find a lot to like about. As member of the Zombie Unit, you’ll find yourself engaging in fluid combat, using both guns and close combat weapons to overcome your foes. It’s the finishers available to you here that really impress though, being very John Wick-esque. It has its issues, then, but if you’re after games like John Wick, this is definitely worth a try.

5. John Wick Hex

Okay, so we said you couldn’t be John Wick. We were wrong, as that’s exactly who you are in John Wick Hex. A strategy game that places you directly in control of the legendary hitman himself, John Wick Hex is an original title with tactical, timeline-based gameplay that requires careful planning and execution. It forces you to make critical decisions and utilise John’s arsenal of weapons, gadgets, and hand-to-hand combat skills to take down foes with precision. And better still, it even has an original story set before the events of the films. Needless to say, this is a must-play for John Wick fans.

6. Superhot

An innovative first-person shooter that combines puzzle elements with intense action, Superhot will no doubt excite those seeking out games like John Wick. In Superhot, time only moves when you do, allowing you to strategize and plan your next move in slow-motion combat scenarios. Like John Wick, you need to master your environment and eliminate enemies using a variety of weapons and tactics. And when you get it right, you feel like a badass. Step into the world of Sifu, and you’ll find there are no guns. Worry not, though, as there’s enough martial arts-focused action to make up for it. What’s more, it perfectly captures the essence of John Wick’s brutal, hand-to-hand combat. As a young kung fu student, Sifu sets you on a path of vengeance against the assassins who murdered your family. What’s unique here though is the the game’s aging mechanic. Basically, your character grows older with each defeat, increasing the stakes of every encounter. Can you achieve your goal before you grow too old to fight any longer? In any case, with its intense combat, engaging storyline, and unforgiving difficulty, Sifu is a must-play for those on the hunt of games like John Wick.

8. Severed Steel

An exhilarating first-person shooter that focuses on stylish gunplay and acrobatic movement, Severed Steel is definitely a game that fans of John Wick should check out. Playing as a one-armed protagonist, to survive in Severed Steel you need to master its fluid movement system and overcome your enemies with your agility. The canon you have in place of your arm helps, too. You can use it to blast the floor underneath an enemy, for example, or create yourself a handy exit. Add in striking cyberpunk visuals and a brilliant soundtrack, and you have a game that makes you feel like you’re playing a John Wick movie at times.
