It might be time to return to one of the best games of 2022 – God of War Ragnarok.

An update just released for the epic action adventure adds a much anticipated feature – New Game Plus – allowing players to carry over their upgrades and more into a brand new playthrough. And that’s not all God of War Ragnarok fans have to look forward to with the new update installed.

When jumping into New Game Plus in God of War Ragnarok, they’ll find that new armors are available, including the Armor of the Black Bear, Spartan Armor, and more. There are more armor appearances, too. Simply visit the Huldra Brothers’ shop and you’ll find them available for purchase. After that, you can apply them to any level 9+ armor via the transmog menu.

As you can bring your upgraded armor and weapons into New Game Plus, including the Draupnir Spear, you’re now able to upgrade them further. It’s up to you whether you make use of these extra progression levels to make the game a cakewalk, or crank the difficulty up to compensate. Some bosses and minibosses will even have new tricks or Runic armour when playing on certain difficulties in New Game Plus.

Other additions in the latest God of War Ragnarok update include a Black and White render mode, an expanded Niflheim arena, and new progression paths. Needless to say, there’s plenty to get stuck into.

Full details of what’s added in the update can be found on the PlayStation Blog. And if you’ve not yet played God of War Ragnarok it’s safe to say there’s never been a better time. You can check out our review of the game right here.
