Guilty Gear Strive’s Latest Patch Notes Are Here

Guilty Gear -Strive- 3

Guilty Gear Strive’s latest patch drops tomorrow and developer Arc System Works have revealed the patch notes.

Going by Guilty Gear Strive’s patch notes, you won’t have to re-learn the whole game. But there are a few tweaks that you should be taking into consideration when taking on other players. And if you’ve not played Guilty Gear Strive, you should absolutely tackle this brawler, not least since it’s currently on Xbox Game Pass.

The patch, update 1.26, also introduces a “new” character, Bedman. He’s new to Strive but previously appeared in Guilty Gear Xrd. That’s not just a Death Stranding-style nickname, either, he literally fights while in bed. The Guilty Gear series has some oddball characters but he’s easily one of the strangest.

You will have to purchase Bedman, though, or have purchased the Season 2 DLC pack. So, aside from adding this wonderfully ridiculous character, what else does the update do?

There are some significant changes to online play, with the network mode becoming more stable. Developer Arc System Works has been investigating issues with abnormal pings and other instabilities, so the patch should deal with most if not all of those issues.

Air backdash also has a higher priority than air dash, which may sound like a little change but if it’s a regular fixture in your fight strategy you should bear that in mind. There are also a wealth of character-specific changes, such as the way the game handle’s Giovanna’s dash.

There are one or two tweaks per character but, again, if you’re a hardcore online brawler, it’s a good idea to read up on those changes. You can check out Guilty Gear Strive’s patch notes here, with the update dropping tomorrow.

The one catch is that network play will go offline between 12:00AM and 2:00AM PDT this April 6th. That’s 7:00AM to 9:00AM GMT so if you have a pre-work Strive brawl you’re going to have to skip it tomorrow, sorry.

Weekend Editor // Chris has been gaming since the days of the Acorn Electron, which was allegedly purchased to 'help him with his homework'. You can probably guess how well that went. He’ll tackle most genres – football titles aside – though he has a taste for games that that are post-apocalyptic, horror-oriented or thought provoking in nature.
