Valorant Update 6.07 is here and, as revealed by the patch notes, there are various quality of life improvements.
Valorant Update 6.07 doesn’t add any new maps or agents, the patch notes confirm. But that’s not a bad thing – several of this multiplayer shooter’s updates have added maps or new characters.
Instead, this is a more general patch, focused on dealing with the odd issue or two and tweaking some maps and characters. So what does it change? You can find the full patch notes here, but we’ve picked through them to round up some of the more significant changes.
The most pressing fix relates to queue dodging, with people pretending to be away from their keyboard. Anyone found to be indulging in repeated AFK behaviour will get a 1 day ranked restriction, Valorant’s equivalent of a slap on the wrist.
Could future patches introduce more severe penalties? It’s possible but we assume developer Riot Games is hoping that’ll be enough to curtail that kind of behaviour. The update also adds several UI tweaks, adding or removing UI indicators from various abilities.
The Bind map has also been tweaked, with some doorways being widened, teleporters moved and more. Those might seem like relatively minor tweaks but they have the potential to be real game changers. Given that a single Valorant round involves 20+ matches, players would do well to familiarize themselves with the changes.
Character Sova also has had their recon bolt changed in size, to match its hitbox and to be more visible. So keep your eyes out. You can check out the rest of the changes here and the next time you play Valorant the patch will have taken effect.
