Are you unsure of how to block incoming attacks in Dead Island 2? It’s an important move in preventing damage, so here’s what you need to know.
Blocking attacks in Dead Island 2 is, surprisingly, not something you can always do from the outset of the game. That’s because there are several different characters to choose from when you start a new game, and each one of them has a unique set of starting skills. And, in Dead Island 2, skills come from cards. Not every character will have that block card. And so, here’s what you need to know about how to block in Dead Island 2.
Some characters – like Carla and Ryan – start with a block card already in their skill loadout. Other characters will need to progress some way through the game before they’re able to unlock the block skill card. If your character in Dead Island 2 has the correct skill card equipped, simply press L1/LB to block.
You’ll need to perfect the timing of your shoulder button press, however. Press L1/LB at just the right time and you’ll not only block, but you’ll stun your opponent – and maybe even trigger a bonus effect.
As such, learning how to successfully block can be a make-or-break combat move. If it’s timed just right, it can make all the difference in combat, turning the tides in your favour.
