May’s Xbox Games With Gold are here and while they’re not going to set the world on fire there’s some fun to be had.
Sony’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium line-ups tend to lack Day 1 releases. But when it comes to monthly games, Sony usually edges out Microsoft. This month is no exception, when you compare May’s Xbox Games With Gold to the recently-announced PlayStation Essential titles.
Still, if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll be able to claim the remastered version of Star Wars Episode I Racer. Yes, it’s a slightly silly game. But dragging a floating go-kart behind two giant jet engines ways always going to be daft. And while it’s not a game we dig out regularly, we’ve had fun dabbling in it.
You can also get your hands on Hoa. This is a puzzler that impressed us when it was part of the 2020 Wholesome Direct. The Wholesome Direct is indeed a thing (you can follow the official Twitter account here) and we’ve got our fingers crossed for a new Direct this year.
Star Wars Episode I Racer will be available from May 1st to May 31st. Hoa, on the other hand, is available from May 16th to June 15th. Yes, that pushes it well into June but we’ve long stopped trying to figure out the logic there.
