Redfall has been marketed as a co-op game, with players teaming up to free an island from the clutches of the undead. But does it also support PvP?
There are plenty of games out there that have co-op play but also let teams choose to take each other on. We’re not just talking about the big names like Overwatch, either. Left 4 Dead, arguably the indirect inspiration for Redfall, has PvP multiplayer. So does it feature in Redfall?
Redfall does not have any PvP modes, just a co-operative mode where you can play through the campaign together. You can take on the vampires solo despite publisher Bethesda pushing the game as a co-op experience. However, Player vs Player is right out.
Honestly, if you want a similar PvP experience, with monsters against humans, Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 are the way to go. Back 4 Blood is prettier than either of those titles but, like Redfall, it’s co-op only. Believe us, there’s nothing quite like playing as a tank and just bashing someone off the roof of Mercy Hospital.
So, if you’re looking for a PvP experience, either deathmatch or team deathmatch, Redfall won’t fit the bill. It has no PvP mode at all.
